A brief history.  Founded in 1987, AMI Exchangers Ltd, produces replacement heat exchangers of all types. Our reputation for extremely quick response times has lead to us effectively supplying a number of different markets including the Marine and Industrial sectors.
  
CHARGE AIR COOLERS

  If your engine breathes easily, then so can you! We can provide you with a replacement cooler that matches or improves the performance of the original, in an average of 1 to 2 weeks. We hold some coolers in stock.
Our database of drawings and engine information means that we can normally provide you with a solution from the smallest of detail - perhaps just a part number Where information is harder to ascertain, our engineers an available to visit the vessel concerned and carry out an inspection. This service is normally free of charge.
When necessary, full thermal designs can be undertaken employing our proven, state of the art design suites.
(Do not forget AMI has a world-wide network of partners who can assist with fitting coolers and arranging cleaning etc.)

 

  For our most important product the replacement Charge Air Cooler for diesel engines, AMI established itself as the world's largest supplier some 400 coolers per year, for all engine types, are produced at our purpose built, modern facility in Northern England.

The process does not alter the wall thickness of the tube, in fact the tube performance and durability actually improves.

This process is accepted throughout the industry as providing the best joint possible. Not only for strength, but most importantly, for excellent heat transfer.

CHARGE AIR COOLERS - CONSTRUCTION

The methods developed by AMI have now been adopted by almost all of the worlds manufacturer's including the original equipment suppliers.

The fins are produced separately in their thousands. Carefully sized tube holes are formed, each with a collar around it's edge. Once the cooler has been loosely assembled, the tubes are carefully inserted through the tube holes. An accurately toleranced bullet is forced down the tubes entire length and its diameter is increased. This is what grips the fin to the tube.
